Vision of a Helping Hand Rotorua

Visions of a Helping Hand sign

During a meeting with a local property manager. It was raised that we often collaborate with other community based organisations. The property manager concerned, Sandy told us of Tiny who runs a homeless shelter in Rotorua.

We knew right then that this was something we would like to support if we could. A meeting with Tiny was arranged the following day and we were impressed at the work that Vision of a Helping Hand was doing in the Rotorua community. Our Operations Supervisor Sika, assessed the property and advised that we could insulation the 17 bedroom facility using off cuts and unused product from other jobs.

From then the planning started. Our assessors, install team and management team were all involved in the project. An install team from Taranaki also came up to Rotorua and joined with the Rotorua teams and with a huge effort both teams insulated the massive ceiling in one day.

It was a humbling experience for our boys to be part of this project. The office team felt "left out" and so they decided to run a “Better Friday Fund Day” to collect clothing, bedding, toys, kitchen utensils and other household items. The office girls managed to fill a trailer which was dropped off at the Vision of a Helping Hand facility.
