Mission Statement

Introduction

Wise Better Homes is a Not for Profit community based service, delivering employment initiatives and retrofitted insulation to houses in the Taranaki community via a team of 25 fulltime staff and 2 part time staff led by a General Manager. Funded largely by EECA, WISE Better Homes also relies on annual grants from community groups such as TSB Community Trust , Taranaki Electrical Trust, MSD, Peak Health, TDHB, and NP District Council to support its operational costs. WISE Better Homes is governed by a Board of Trustees, representative of community and stakeholder groups. Analysis of the New Zealand housing
stock indicates as many as 900,000 homes are poorly
insulated and heated.
